18.00-18.30 Accelerating development and CI/CD processes with Dagger - Márk Sági-Kazár

Mark fell in love with programming at the age of seven, when (with some help from his father) he managed to write his first program (an analogue clock in Basic).
It's been a long time since then, but the passion has remained, and thanks to that he is still the author and maintainer of a lot of open source software.

Besides open source software, his enthusiasm for Cloud Native applications has accompanied him throughout his career, and he has worked for several companies active in this field (Ustream, IBM, Banzai Cloud, Cisco, to name a few).

Accelerating development and CI/CD processes with Dagger

Tired of disparate environments and inconsistent build results? Frustrated with spending hours setting up new development environments or wondering why a script breaks on CI while running locally? Need to release a fix quickly but CI is not running?

You are not alone!

These are the problems that Dagger, an open source portable CI/CD engine, was created to solve. In today's presentation I will demonstrate its use through an example application. If all goes well, the finished container will end up on AWS and running.

18.30 - 19.00 Development made easy: How AWS CodeCatalyst speeds up your work? - Maté Kovács

I have been working as an AWS Cloud Engineer for four years, where I am involved in the design, development and operation of cloud infrastructure and CI/CD systems. I hold three AWS Certificates, which demonstrate my expertise in AWS architecture and DevOps solutions. I have implemented several machine learning and artificial intelligence projects in AWS environments, with a particular focus on integrating generative AI and LLM technologies into automation processes. In doing so, I develop smart CI/CD systems that can provide faster and more efficient development cycles for teams.

Development made easy: How AWS CodeCatalyst speeds up your work?

If you're interested in the world of software development but don't want to waste time setting up different tools, or if you're just wondering how to make your team's work easier, this is the presentation for you!

AWS CodeCatalyst is a modern development platform that combines design, coding, testing, and application deployment to make building applications easier and faster. In my presentation, I'll give a detailed overview of AWS CodeCatalyst, which makes developers' jobs easier by providing all the tools they need in one place. I'll show how project templates and automated workflows can be used, and how cloud-based development environments speed up work and ensure seamless collaboration between teams.

In the second half of the presentation, I will show how this works in practice in a demo. We'll walk you step-by-step through a development process so you can see for yourself how AWS CodeCatalyst makes it easy to build and deploy applications.

What does the fifth episode of our webinar series has to offer you?

During the presentations you will learn about the basics of CI/CD, the Dagger platform and AWS' own CI/CD toolkit, with a focus on Amazon CodeCatalyst. Both presentations will provide demos to further illustrate the solutions presented, so you'll gain knowledge you can use immediately! In the webinar, you'll learn about the Dagger and Amazon CodeCatalyst interfaces, as well as the most important practices for using them.

In a departure from the previous format, this time we are offering a two-part webinar with more in-depth technical content, with both presentations presented in a longer 30-minute time frame. This will give the opportunity to delve deeper into the world of CI/CD and to provide not just a taste but a comprehensive knowledge.
