Job description

Devertix is a well grounded AWS Consulting Partner and we want to scale up our talented engineering team. We are looking for a smart engineer with experience in CloudOps/DevOps and good social skills.

You would help us in our aim to help our clients in embracing the cloud and beginning or continuing their journey with AWS.

You are a good candidate if you

  • Have extensive Dev/Ops/DevOps experience
  • Can comfortably use at least one scripting language (Bash, Python, Ruby etc.)
  • Are experienced with Linux (package management, containers, networking)
  • Have experience with containerization technologies like Docker
  • Are familiar with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes for managing and scaling containerized applications
  • Have a deep understanding of underlying technologies of today's internet
  • Have a basic understanding of Infrastructure as Code and configuration management
  • Have hands on experience with AWS or other cloud providers
  • Have good social skills and a proven track record in mentoring engineers

You are perfect for this role if you

  • Have relevant certifications (AWS, Kubernetes etc.)
  • Already have hands on experience with an IaC tool (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation or Pulumi) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
  • Prefer the DevOps experience: owning and operating services that you've built
  • Have people management experience
  • Have contributions to open source projects
  • Speak fluent English

Responsibilities

  • Continuously enhance your expertise in Cloud Engineering and AWS, acquire certifications, and also support fellow team members in this
  • Mentor Cloud and DevOps engineers
  • Review the work of your colleagues when needed
  • Resolve conflicts and promote a positive team culture
  • Collect and analyze problems raised by team members, escalating them to management if necessary
  • Design and build secure, cost optimized and high performance cloud based solutions for a variety of workloads
  • Provide support for the recruitment process of new colleagues alongside with other senior team members
  • Identify technical and soft skill training needs and opportunities for team members
  • Hold bi-weekly 1-on-1 sessions with your team members
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and the latest Cloud technologies
